Future Tech was founded by Dr. Leon G. Stucki in 1985. Twenty years of experience in the software engineering area, developing innovative software tools, gave Dr. Stucki a clear vision of the type of tools needed by developers in the present and the future. The arrival of low-cost workstations with Graphical User Interfaces created the opportunity to build affordable tools that met these criteria. We have always been challenged by the concept of providing users with a visually rich environment for capturing and managing "Your Enterprise YOUR Way!"
A goal was set to produce and market a new class of software. This new class of software is potentially as revolutionary as the original spreadsheet. It allows a user to define and leverage virtually any type of data. Users can define any number of "user views" containing
any number of "user objects" and capture any type of data ["attributes"] for the business objects defined in these views. ENVISION® was built to facilitate these capabilities. ENVISION itself has evolved over 20 years to become a flexible, object-oriented environment suitable for all types of Business Modeling and Software Engineering. Consultants can model THEIR projects, processes or tasks and THEIR data to determine how to proceed with their management and re-engineering activities. Analysts can design better systems and software--at a lower cost throughout the application’s life cycle. Information would be captured at the earliest useful point, referential integrity can be easily maintained, and the leveraged use of this information is available throughout the system life cycle.
The first demonstrations of ENVISION were made in 1986 at the Windows 1.0 roll-out. The first multi-user version of ENVISION 2.0 was released at the same time that Windows 3.0 became available in 1990. The powerful meta-modeling capabilities of ENVISION have continued to evolve over many years. Close work with many world class consultants and various other tool vendors have added to the flexibility and power of the system. Over the years major and minor releases have been made both in North America and Europe.
